Why "The different colours of music"?
Our organization has great experience in the implementation of European projects. We have a small chorus, an orchestra and a dance club in our school and the students who participate in these clubs are enthusiastic with what they do and very willing to frame all the school activities. Some of the students who sing, play an instrument or dance are at low level regarding theιr school performance. So, this type of non formal education a motivation for this kind of students to get involved to the learning procedure and for the teachers to achieve inclusion for them.
1st EPAL of Kalamaria is situated in the east region of Thessaloniki, called Kalamaria. It is a Vocational Senior High School that specializes in technical subjects. The subjects are distinguished into general knowledge, theoretical vocational education, mixed subjects and subjects with two or more cognitive objects. The number of the students is about 760 and the number of teachers is about 100 and the number of labs are 26. Their pupils attend many lessons in different laboratories, according to the specialization they have chosen.
The study includes practical lessons and practical training at school. Their students also take part in EU projects. When they graduate, they acquire two diplomas: The first is a certificate of their special Vocational knowledge and the Specialty they have attended. The second one has the same value as that of the Senior High School and they have the same opportunities to enter the University after National Examinations to study in higher education and become professionals.
